Jacinta Finch and Maddie Paton formed Therapy Friend in February of 2023 after meeting at a local open mic night in Erskineville Sydney. The Venue Moshpit Bar quickly became their second home. Performing together at this vibey local dive bar every Wednesday helped to rapidly tighten and create their unique sound. Jacinta and Maddie both have a diverse array of influences ranging from Rock, Indie, Classical, Pop, Jazz, Funk, Blues and Metal. Their influences include Paramore, INXS, P!nk, Bjork, Fiona apple, The 1975, KOKO Taylor, Spice Girls, Herbie Hancock, Tash Saltana, Shostakovich, Blackthorn, Dirty Lucy and Kesha. Hence, their musical stylings formed into a funky cross-over of genres. With Rock cross Classical and Jazz vocal stylings, groovy drum beats, funky bass lines, unique looping, and cutthroat lyrics that are sure to stop you in your tracks, Therapy Friend has quickly grown in popularity and packs a punch you don't want to dodge.
