Dave Sattout Quartet

9PM
jazz, chill
(Sydney, nsw)
If memory serves him correctly, Dave Sattout has been kicked out of the Townie at least twice...
...once for air drumming to AC/DC, and the other for air guitar (𝘎𝘶𝘯𝘴 '𝘯' 𝘙𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘴 - 𝘌𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘰).
Moreover, award-winning multi air-instrumentalist Dave Sattout (who can also play guitar reasonably well) is thrilled to bring his quartet to the Townie for a night of initially chilled and then gradually heating music, serving up as he will mixed metaphors, cold cuts from his recent EP "Go Gentile" and the hot spice of some new ones inspired by the likes of Television, the Jesus Lizard and Dead Combo.
For their part, the rest of the band (Jamie Cameron, Julian Curwin, Josh Ahearn) has already begun complaining about parking. Free entry, price is right, see you there.

Bronwyn Aether

8PM
alternative, roots, Alt-folk, art-rock
(Sydney, nsw)
When the scales fall from our eyes, truth soars on luminous wings and wild are the winds of change.

Bronwyn Eather is a writer and performer, whose career in linguistics took her to
remote Arnhem Land for a decade, where she did field recordings and learned how
others view the skies, the land and sea. These days she weaves melody around her
poetry and brings atmospheric elements to her musical performances, surrounded by
the spontaneous shimmer of Sydney, a city bathed in the dark and the light.

Bronwyn usually performs with her band or with her duo partner, Paul Vassallo.
Occasionally she ventures solo onto the stage. Following performances of the duo’s
recent release Unbroken, Bronwyn will perform the second set of Aether + Vassallo’s
anticipated show at MONA later in the year. Introducing Unbroken II: Reimagined, story-
songs of three women in history, who when faced with adversity, find a way though.
